The Conduit displays a new level of technical achievement for the Wii. Visuals were impressive and reflects a turning point for the Wii that one would hope continues through the lifecycle of the console. The Conduit uses the graphic engine to drive the experience without losing sight of gameplay, though the attention to effects such as water are certainly appreciated in doing what they can to up the immersion factor. I didn't expect to be as impressed as I was with the texture resolution, given that they needed to keep the FPS stable without tanking the experience. As it turns out, he team made an effective use of textures and models given the power of the system to drive an experience that held variety without feeling like one was going through the same 3 rooms over and over again.
Overall the game presents a solid experience with a lot of replay value. Gamers are given close combat with a variety of scenarios to blast through over multiple levels. The introduction of new opponents makes for a decent challenge; just as players clue in to marine behavior, they're introduced to speedy, smaller aliens matched with larger soldier units armed with variety of new weapons and attack patterns. That's all while trying not to trip off ghost mines, and preserving health stats as medical packs which always seem more and more limited as the game progresses. The Conduit uses simple gameplay shifts to drive more intensity into each battle as the game progresses, keeping things interesting.
As a core game The Conduit presents itself as a unique title focusing on breaking new technical ground for gamers, so that they feel they have a bit more choice and control with the Wii remote without going the route of new adapters. It also focuses on bringing elements of classic FPS gaming back to the Wii with some puzzle solving and side adventuring, though it avoids being a hybrid genre title. For those that enjoy a good sci-fi shooter with great online play and a fun single player experience, I would say The Conduit is a must.
The focus on function over gimmicks for the control system makes motion control and gestures feel natural on an FPS, and with a growing online community and free multiplayer with ranking system, there really is a lot to enjoy in The Conduit.
Final Score: 9.3 / 10

I guess this one is well worth the money, haha. I'll probably go out and pick up a copy if I have the time.
Great review.
