Great review! I just realized that I did play a little bit of Diamond when it first came out and couldn't get past the way the fights were drug out so slowly. Is there a way to shut off some of the battle animations in this version? I just couldn't stand waiting for each pokemon to get called upon, and gave up on the whole series after only a few minutes of playing.
you have been able to turn the animations off ever since the R/B/Y days.

Great review, not worth reading though, since i would have bought the game regardless of the out come.

I never buy portable games any more (or very rarely) I can never find the time, even tho I waste two hours on the bus/skytrain every day.
You're not cool unless you beat various animals to a pulp, capture these animals in tiny capsules too small for their body, don't feed them, and only release them to fight other animals in brutal battles. =(

That's what's kept this immoveable franchise going since 1995(97 if you think back to NA's release dates)!

You all do know they're going to remake Gold and Silver anyway, right?

I like how you pull that number out of nowhere.

Too bad it's wrong. It's either/or here and that's all.

It seems a little late to produce a Gold/Silver remake at this point seeing as it would have seemed more appropriate to release it some time after Fire Red/Leaf Green's release.

A little...? You seem to have overlooked the lack of a GBA slot. How else will you remedy acquiring Pokemon from those games? Not only would a remake solve getting Johto-native and Kanto-native Pokemon, but it would make them easier to acquire.

Aside from Nintendo milking further monies, consider all the upgrades they can do once more. Maybe we'll finally goddamn trade more than 1 Pokemon at once. Give the original 251 some updated cries for crying out loud.

As much as I cannot prove outright a remake is coming or not, I still know. I won't tease it in front of you guys.

I never said I was against this idea.

I agree. Like it or not, time always passes sooner or later. Nintendo will just have to work with what they've got. A DS-featured remake sounds about right.

Nice review. Thanks for linking me to this, I may look for it at the mall the next time I go out. (Luckily, I already have a DS.)

Next ones are going to be Pokemon Black and Pokemon White. Something to do with a tribute to Michael Jackson.
