Kurt

Kurt, the main hero of the first game, is fortunate enough to be re-equipped with the famous coil suit, which was designed by the Doctor several years ago. With it, Kurt has the ability to use a powerful sniper rifle from extremely long distances, throw grenades, and float to safety using his own built-in parachute. Playing Kurt is relatively simple. His base chain gun never runs out of ammo, thus if you simply circle around an enemy for long enough while firing with your gun at him, he will fall to the ground in no time. The levels in which you play Kurt make use of his ability to fire his sniper rifle by setting up little spinning spheres that you can only activate by using the weapon. All you have to do is shoot a little ball target. After that, a door opens or a switch activates, and the route that Kurt has to take is revealed.

There are some parts of Kurt’s levels that make use of his parachute feature. By standing on a large fan that has been activated and then deploying his parachute, Kurt can float up to much higher points than he could ever hope to jump. Also by using his parachute, Kurt is able to glide for extremely long distances to reach remote platforms or hidden items.

I found it easiest while playing as Kurt to use his sniper rifle as much as possible. With the rifle in hand, you can only strafe left and right. The forward and backward keys by default zoom the gun, and if mapped, do nothing. With the rifle, you can shoot through little tiny holes or from extremely long distances at remote targets, often without them ever detecting your presence. Thus, you can clear a room from a nice and safe distance.
