If Charles Darwin was still alive and if he was a gamer, he would undoubtedly be playing Evolva. Although the game isn’t nearly as scientifically intensive as the theory of evolution itself, the premise and concept behind it are largely the same. Evolva is set in the not-too-distant future when man has successfully conquered the genetic forces of nature. After experimenting with cows, sheep, and agricultural products, man has finally acquired the ability to fully manipulate the genetic structure of any living entity, resulting in numerous benefits. Famine has been eliminated through the genetic engineering of crops that can withstand virtually any condition to always yield the maximum. Disease has been eradicated from the face of the earth. In short, man has become genetically flawless, and peace reigns across the land.
But as history has often showed us, peace and prosperity can not last forever. Earth becomes overcrowded, with land turning into a scarce commodity. Earth’s population turns from peace to war as the fight over the prized land commences. Powerful and destructive genetic weapons are created and the world becomes inhospitable. Eventually, the wars came to a halt and peace returns to the land. Emerging from this outcome is a realization that Earth's inhabitants need more room to grow, so they begin colonizing other planets in the galaxy. On a certain planet at the edge of the galaxy, they discover that a malevolent life form known as the Parasite has ended its long hibernation and has methodically destroyed indigenous creatures of the planet. The Parasite has been found to have the potential to wipe out the entire galaxy. Therefore an organization of elite troops made up of guardians has been assembled. Your team is known as Evolva, and is dispatched to rid the originating planet of this colossal threat.
