Everquest: Ruins of Kunark Review - PAGE 1
Timur Dykhne - Monday, June 26th, 2000

Introduction

As a timely way to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of Everquest – the game that has split up relationships over 10 times its age– the developer Verant has unleashed an expansion pack to their extremely popular Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG), Everquest. The expansion, entitled Ruins of Kunark (RoK), features an entirely new continent called Kunark, over 20 new zones to explore, a new playable race called the Iskar, a higher experience cap, and many graphical improvements.

The Story

The story, while not the greatest by any means, does its job for the expansion and provides an appropriate background for the new continent. People have been kidnapped and taken to the island of Kunark, where these events have gone unnoticed until now, and have just sprung up out of nowhere. The island of Kunark is populated by the savage Iksar, a race who have been in constant wars since the beginning of their existence. Now, brave adventurers from all over the original two Everquest islands, Antonica and Faydwer, are sailing to Kunark in order to learn more about what is going on there and to rescue their lost friends.
