While the floor impressions covered a loose variety of titles, we have more information covered in the forums and the game profiles, its really a shame that the show suffered like this. The lack of involvement in the show really seemed to hurt when it came to experiencing the game outside of a private hotel arrangement, the time with the devs and the producers is a key asset to not only the press but the gamers as a whole. We can only hope that in the future instances if there are any, that the ESA works to develop a better interaction here because it really did feel lacking at quite a few levels.
We put this show behind us now, and hope for the better in 2008, a survey has already gone around inquiring about the effectiveness of the show. That will really be seen later this year when E for All arrives in LA and takes the seat that the true E3 once held. I have a feeling that IDG given their intense success with convention productions in the past will have no problem pulling this one out though. Stay tuned in October as we hit the LACC once again in full glory, hopefully with a larger team as well.
In the meantime I would suggest that gamers interested in the show more contact me, the article has been delayed and re-written to hopefully give a better impression. I'll be glad to make notes in the impressions section for specific titles I did get my hands on, hopefully we'll be doing more in-depth 1 on 1 coverage with games in the future though especially on the more major ones.
