The poker realm is a heavily populated one these days, everyone wants to get in on the latest push in the industry and why not? With so many styles of play and methods to try and learn the system there is quite a bit of room for everyone. Enter in Stacked a title to be published by Atari at the end of the month. Players that enter the realm of stacked are able to take on a new method to the game that they may have not experienced before, the reason being is that the AI system has been extensively developed to adapt to the player not on just a statistical level but on history, calls, tells, hands dealt and played and much more. As a result players are facing opponents with a gradual slope of knowledge as they progress up the ranks in the story.
The game itself is pretty direct, play your hands, learn the opponents and how they may react, I note the may part simply because of the design of the system, as a result of the AI and the random element in the game chances are there will not be a duplicate player to encounter. Players of the game know this means that they'll need to constantly be on top of the game to keep themselves in the fight since those calls will not always be the same or signal the same intent. While one AI may use smiles to signify a good hand the other may frown, check their cards often or do other signals with the opposite intent.
Online play will also compliment Stacked, players from around the globe will be able to show off their winnings and take their abilities to the internet for new challenges or tournaments. One thing to watch though is the funding of the player, spend too much and it's game over as the game will focus on players being responsible about their winnings. Personally I look forward to seeing the sharks in the pond waiting to snatch up some new prey, with the ability to customize the user avatar in such a way it really lends to create an authentic experience for gamers.
