Of course, what is Anime Expo without the Masquerade. This year we look at a show that was so large that in fact it shook the very ground that the event took place on, as people continued not only to pack the house seats, they packed the lodge seats, the deck seats and the hallways to create the largest stage for masquerade that AX has ever seen. I kid not when I say that this show was phenominal in size. Given that there were around 50 entries to begin with it was an amazing show and honestly could have kept up the pace had they not pre-installed time limitations upon their use of the facility. The show was based around the usual antics of cosplayers and the technical demonstrations as well. The half-time show as it has infamously been named consisted of the question of pirates versus ninja's in the ever so epic final battle. Overall the show was good, there was a ton of energy even as tired fans sat into the late hours of the show.

Honestly I just thought this year was suprising in so many ways, not so many big shows but a lot of technical investments compared to prior years, I really have to hand it to the cosplayers for stepping it up this year and really challenging the idea of costume production.
