Given that AX has been a rapidly expanding monolith it's hard to expect how things are going to go. Sometimes the pre-regs are overwhelming and they end up having trouble pushing people through all the systems while the un-reg's fly by in their small numbers. This year presented yet another hurdle, the massive un-reg line returned from it's break. With word noting up to 4-5hr waits in intense heat it was a given that somehow reg lineups would return to AX. Luckily for many that we're pre-regged this wasn't a problem and a little tip for those next time caught up in the mix. Always check if you can find a terminal / pc with print ability nearby. If so, hit it. usually hotels have a business center, if you're fast with the Anime Expo website you can spend a few bucks and save yourself hours in waiting by registering on the fly that same day. The DB gets updated on the fly so by the time you come back with your confirmation number you can walk into the pre-reg line and get signed up in no time at all.

I should note the above was tested and proven true on a test group of people and it worked fine for them. I advise that all convention visitors try to apply that to future con's where line-con hits like that for un-regged people.
So not only do we face lines for public registration, we also face exhibit hall lines scrambling across the convention center along with registration lines, and of course on day 1 the S.K.I.N. line as well which spanned the Arena parking lot and other locations. Personally I thought that part was a bit of madness. If such a case occurs in the future I hope that the AX staff will be a little more encouraging to the public that they have reserved seats as signaled on their tickets, a lovely thing especially when they had enough staff on hand in the events to make sure people weren't just stealing whatever seats they wanted at the start of the shows. I will give it up to them on that, it surely beat out past organization attempts.
Outside of the other usual things, line-con for bathrooms, coffee, food, games, checkout. It was pretty much a normal show. I don't knock the AX staff much because honestly most of the registration problems are usually software related and the lines for the shows were based mostly on public error and waiting out for insane periods of time only to find out the seat they were assigned was still assigned to them.
