Anime Expo 2007 Report - PAGE 1
Gabriel Vega - Tuesday, July 3rd, 2007

Anime Expo has been a constantly evolving force in the circuit. Originally spanning a few hotel lobby rooms and a ballroom the convention has grown past the level of entry level subbed movies just hitting the market and so much bootleg product selling that it was madness. These days the show is much more, in 2007 convention visitors get a glance at a new level of convention development.

In this year, fans were greeted with a massive onslaught of concert performances. Gackt graced the stage of the Long Beach Arena with the debut of S.K.I.N., Oreskaband kicked off the start of their US tour, Chiaki Ishikawa stepped onto the stage and performed live in front of a crazed audience and so much more.

Gamers were greeted with HD viewing goodness for their console experience. Tournaments ran all through the show with a little something for everyone, including pleanty of break periods where a game of Wii Sports could even ensue. Of course there was always the latest machines from Japan avaEnter away message text here.ilable as well in the arcade room, but for those seeking a bit more value the console gaming room was dishing out pleanty including the latest Bleach and Naruto titles to battle it out on.

The summer festival was alive and well again this year, bringing fun and games as well as a cultural show for everyone to enjoy, granted they had to stop moving to really appreciate it. Live dance shows demonstrated various traditional techniques and the dancers took it the extra step to bring cosplayers and watchers up onto the stage for a massive interaction set to the tune of the Gorillaz.

Is this the greatest expo to date? Maybe... Is this article already over? Not hardly.
