I don't really want to be a downer, but this is kind of a couple days late. I and many others have already seen this stuff.

What would have been really awesome is if you guys recorded gameplay videos like this guy did.

Well they did have to fly back home and then write the story .

Great story, with a good amount of detail. Hope you both had an awesome time at the reveal as well.

First of all - HOLY SHIT I'M JEALOUS ;-;

Second of all - Great write-up, but you got one little thing wrong. In Gun Game, dying sets you back one tier ONLY if you get killed by a knife.

If it was so simple more sites would be showing off in-game footage of their play experience. Unfortunately only a select few are ever given permission to film at these events. During our MW2 preview last year I nearly had my tape taken for filming without knowledge of such restrictions. After the event a notice was issued that I was not allowed to post the direct recorded footage I had.

Tbh, I really have no idea what the restrictions are. How do you get permission anyway?

Even if we did record something, you wouldn't be hearing a thing over the music that's playing. Everyone was playing with headphones on anyways.

It's a private event, press are invited by Treyarch / Activision and told the guidelines of how it goes down. If we're given permission we're told ahead of time it doesn't go the other way around. As Reenee noted, the footage was selectively done for them as it didn't have the ambient noise.

Permissions went out to organisations based around a focus of video only content. As an example I use 'Machinima', they were allowed to direct record a few of their matches as their presence is mainly video based through Youtube and their website. A few of their premier directors Hutch (Shaun Hutchinson) and SeaNanners (Adam Montoya) were allowed to film. The only restrictions placed on them were that uploaded clips to Youtube had to remain under 3 minutes in length.

PS. A second example would be G4TV who were also allowed to direct record feeds from their matches as their presence is mainly TV.
