While Dead Rising didn't make its way to PC, Capcom thankfully comissioned Blue Castle Games (now Capcom Vancouver) to bring the sequel over. Unfortunately it's not built on the excellent MT Framework engine, and partly in relation to this, it's not all the game it could be on PC. However, it is a pretty decent port, sporting options for multisampling, mouse sensitivity, blur effects, zombie quality, shadow quality, and texture filtering.
The graphics are a few touches improved over the console versions, but at least a few touches behind the excellent Devil May Cry 4, Resident Evil 5, Lost Planet 2, and so on (all built on the aforementioned engine with PC as a major focus).
Making up for these complaints however is the newly formed modding community, which came as a bit of a surprise to me. You may recall I spotlighted the fantastic Street Fighter IV modding community last year -- something that should've been a feature, in retrospect. So with that, here's a first in what should be a series of many "mod spotlight" features, starting with Dead Rising 2.
Aside from mods, there are also a few really neat tweaks I'll get to at the end.

The hub
The game's mod HQ is located squarely at http://deadrising2mods.proboards.com, and contains everything you could need -- a forum for general mod discussion, a mod releases thread, tutorials, and so on. I'll be updating this feature with new major releases as time goes on (and noting so on our Twitter and Facebook accounts), but feel free to stick around there as you please -- I ask only you send any notable items to tipsATneoseekerDOTcom.

Modder Tab says this has no real goal beyond "make crazy stuff." What we have here is a collection of awesome weapons and powered up unarmed moves, coupled with 2-3 times the number of zombies and also modifications to your safe house. Lastly, all items are now pocketable. If you're only interested in the pocketable items component, there's a separate mod for that elsewhere in the forums.
Below is a video showing it in action -- make sure children cover their ears. Note the framerate is poor due to FRAPS -- the mod won't have this effect on your experience.
The mod appears to be updated frequently, so if you enjoy it, keep checking back.

This adds a nice monotone look to the game with the finer details inspired by the film noir genre; the interface is wisely kept in colour. The modder says he's looking into making blood red Sin City style, which should make it about twice as appealing. This mod is compatible with others.
This adds some enhancements to the classic six shooter gun, allowing you to shoot six rounds off quickly. Note damage and bullet range values are increased slightly, and more ammo is packed in by default. This mod is compatible with others.
Turns your skateboard into a speedy and indestructible zombie killing weapon.
Skins/re-models
K24UK Skin Batch #1 & K24UK Skin Batch #2
Two quality skin packs featuring Superman, Jason Voorhees, and various others, some pop culture, some not.

For Resident Evil fans of course. A nice high quality skin in black and blue or black and grey.
Great looking zombie mod for our hero.

Because you've always wanted to slaughter zombies in a bunny suit.

Speaks for itself.
Tweaks
Very cool mod which transforms the game into a feature-film style experience by forcing a 2.35:1 aspect ratio. Consider trying it with the Film Noir mod.
This adjusts your viewing area so you get more of a sense of peripheral vision.
Adds some handy keyboard and mouse icons for when specific actions are required.
Very handy for taking screenshots or making machinima.
Remove the green "Local player Pos"'
Also very handy for taking screenshots or making machinima.
So you don't have to endure those pesky videos that load on start up each time.
As you can see, there's a ton of fun to be had thanks to the wonderful modding community, and surely even more over time. With any luck, fans will work on a higher-res texture mod like we saw with Resident Evil 4. Obviously Dead Rising 2 is in much better shape, but some improvements would definitely be welcome.
For those into cheats, there are a nice few of those as well, though of course I recommmend holding off until you've beaten the vanilla game.
Hopefully you've enjoyed this guide -- we'll be back with more before too long. Feel free to send along any requests or suggestions to tipsATneoseekerDOTcom.
