999 Reasons to buy 999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors

The good:

  • Incredible story
  • Branching storyline begs for multiple playthroughs
  • Puzzles are well-constructed and fun to play

The bad:

  • Blacked out choices should be conditional, based on choices already made

Summary:

I've never been one to finish the games that I start. Usually, I get enamored with a game for a few short bursts, and then never touch the game again. Currently, my unfinished game library stretches from as far back as Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (which, in my defense, I never actually owned, but had to rent over and over again) to as recent as Dragon Quest IX (got stuck around 13 hours in and haven't ever recovered). That last game I finished, Sin and Punishment 2, wasn't even all that impressive, as I only beat it on Normal with one character.

But then I stumbled upon a little game...
